What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Aquatics Manager position at Charleston Swim School?
The Assistant Swim Teacher Manager will assist with managing a team of 10-25 swim teachers. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for hiring, training, onboarding, and continuing to develop the swim teachers of Charleston Swim School. As the Assistant Manager you will sub and teach swim lessons as necessary.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in sports management, education, psychology, or related fields.
- Knowledge of our swim curriculum
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- CPR/AED/FIRST AID for Adults and Pediatrics certification (or willing to obtain)
- SafeSport certification or Darkness to Light training (or willing to obtain)
- Integrity, innovative, motivated, and has a “can do” attitude
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Hire swim teachers
- Onboard teachers
- Hold orientations
- Train swim teachers
- Manage swim teachers
- Oversee skills, attendance are being logged
- Oversee points & stars system
- Identify strengths and weaknesses of swim teachers and work to develop both
- Maintain constant communication with swim teachers to ensure success and job satisfaction
- Continuing education for swim teachers
- Warehouse duties
- Maintain inventory
- Purchase product when inventory is low
- Ensure CSS standards are met with inventory delivery & quality
- 10-20 hours of swim teaching (not including subbing)
- 20 hours during off season
- 10 hours during on season
- These hours may change as demand changes.
- Deckhand and substitute teach when needed
- Assist with schedule building
- Gather all teachers availability in a timely manner
- Place all teachers at desired locations
- Communicate with the office when schedules are ready to be built
- Ensure all teachers are up to date with certifications and training
- Lead biweekly teacher meetings (trainings, updates, team building)
- Lead team building activities (season kick off events)
- Assist with payroll for teachers
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
