Job Summary: To direct and supervise all functions and activities of the Department in the absence of the Department Manager.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Responsible for the supervision of all stockers/clerks and their performance of their responsibilities. (Refer to “stockers & clerks” job description).
2. Responsible to the Department Manager for the enforcement of all company policies and procedures related to the department.
3. In absence of Department Manager, responsible for overall operation of Department as outlined in “Manager” job description.
4.. Maintain a neat personal appearance according to the company’s dress code policy.
5. Greet all customers and be observant.
Supplemental Job Functions:
Assist department manager in conducting competitive price checks.
Minimum Knowledge, Skill and Abilities Required:
1. Ability to read and write in order to properly tag merchandise and to assist in the ordering.
2. Strong communication skills for dealing with customers.
3. Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds (50#’s) up to thirty percent (30%) of the time.
Working Conditions:
1. Exposed to hazardous chemicals used in cleaning and sanitizing the produce department. Hazards are limited when established safety procedures are followed.
2. Exposed to extreme cold up to fifty percent (50%) of the time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
