What are the responsibilities and job description for the Broadcast Production Associate position at Charlotte Knights?
Job Description: The Charlotte Knights, AAA affiliate of the Chicago White Sox are seeking qualified and motivated applicants for their 2025 Broadcast Production Associate. These are hourly positions which are limited to no more than 39 hours per week, plus a game fee for Charlotte Knights and College games. The position runs from February 18, 2025 through September 30, 2025. Applicants should be able to work well with others. Applicants are required to be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, work nights and weekends, and potentially work in adverse weather situations.
This opportunity is great for someone who has ideas for storylines when watching a game. Someone who would like to learn how to produce and direct a live broadcast as well as a variety of roles in a production.
Day-to- Day Role & Responsibilities
- Research players, teams, coaches, league, etc story lines for each homestand that consists of 6 games. Home & Away
- Building broadcast graphics
- Coordinating with broadcast talent and communications director
- Writing and producing gameday rundowns
- Operating camera, Replay, camera shading, Technical Directing and basic engineering
- Setting up cameras, camera maintenance, and taking down cameras after the games
Job Requirements
- Passion for sports & production
- A strong work ethic coupled with the ability to work with others
- High energy to thrive in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environment
- Must be available from March until end of season
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
- Specifically cutting clips on Premier and editing stats on Photoshop with our broadcast graphics templates
- Self-starter, proactive and highly motivated
- Have great communications and interpersonal skills, along with a positive and energetic personality
- Learn quickly and work well under pressure
- Proficient understanding of broadcast equipment, streaming devices
- Basic knowledge of the Mac operating system as well as PC video-streaming software
- Positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile
- Able to assume other responsibilities as required
- Ability to take direction and communicate feedback in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in live production work environment is a plus
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, time management
- Ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills – Must work well with others at all levels of organization
- Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds
