Description
Charlotte Latin is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our Facilities team beginning in July 2025. In this role, you will provide expert HVAC services across our campus, ensuring the functionality, safety, and efficiency of all systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn and understand the location of all HVAC equipment across buildings and how each unit serves its respective space.
- Maintain a working knowledge of building equipment management and control systems (e.g., BAS/BMS).
- Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC system issues efficiently and accurately.
- Perform routine HVAC maintenance, including:
- Replacing filters and belts
- Cleaning drain lines, condenser coils, and evaporator coils
- Repairing or replacing motors, contactors, and other system components
- Ensure HVAC and equipment rooms are clean, organized, and maintained according to safety standards.
- Receive, complete, and close work orders promptly and accurately.
- Notify the supervisor of any unusual system behavior or maintenance concerns.
- Respond to HVAC-related emergencies as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for all HVAC supplies and equipment.
- Support the facilities department with additional tasks as assigned, which may include non-HVAC-related duties.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- 5 or more years of experience with HVAC systems.
- Posses familiarity with boiler/chiller systems.
- Hold an EPA Universal Certification
Skills
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve HVAC issues efficiently and effectively.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing manual tasks as required.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and various environmental conditions.
- Strong commitment to following all safety protocols and industry best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality customer service.
- Highly organized, with the ability to maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records.
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
- Team player with a collaborative attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a service vehicle.
- Flexible availability, including willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.
- Dependable and responsive, with the ability to handle after-hours HVAC emergencies on a routine basis.

Working Conditions and Environment
- Intermittently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Continuously see, sit, balance, grasp, and have repetitive use of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers; and some fine finger dexterity.
- Frequently talk and hear.
- Intermittently stand, stoop, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, crawl, walk, climb stairs, step stools and ladders, operate foot and hand controls, squeeze, and reach above shoulders.
- Exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, flammables, grease, dirt, stacked materials, electrical equipment, machinery, low to medium noise levels, and moderate indoor temperatures of heat and cold.
- Long or odd hours, as needed.
- Individuals must also be able to safely operate a golf cart or similar vehicle.
