POSITION SUMMARY:
The Associate Youth Leader will be a visionary role focused on supporting, mentoring, and discipling middle and high school students, with a primary focus on the female youth involved in Dream Center Church and its outreach programs. This part-time position will provide emotional and spiritual support, helping to create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment that encourages spiritual growth and development. The Associate Youth Leader will collaborate closely with the Youth Pastor, Neighborhood Coordinator, Executive Director, and other key stakeholders to help fulfill the mission of the Dream Center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Work alongside The Youth Pastor to:
· Lead and facilitate Middle School and High School youth programming, ensuring a safe, dynamic, and engaging environment for youth, volunteers, and parents.
· Plan and execute weekly and monthly youth activities, Bible studies, and small group discussions to foster spiritual growth.
· Provide one-on-one and small group mentoring and discipleship for primarily female youth, offering guidance, prayer, and support in their personal and spiritual journeys.
· Collaborate with the Youth Pastor to organize and execute youth events and special programs, including community outreach, holiday events, and other activities.
· Assist with logistics, coordination, and communication for youth events, ensuring smooth execution and a positive experience for all participants.
· Support the onboarding process for new volunteers and help lead volunteer orientations.
· Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment by supporting and encouraging volunteers, ensuring they are equipped to lead, mentor, and disciple youth effectively.
· Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, event planning, maintaining attendance records, and communicating with parents and volunteers.
· Manage social media and digital platforms to share updates, event details, and ministry opportunities with youth, volunteers, and parents.
· Track and maintain accurate records of youth involvement, prayer requests, and ministry progress.
· Manage and order supplies for youth events and volunteer areas to ensure readiness and organization.
· Build relationships with youth through the ON-CAMPUS outreach program and participate in Dream Center outreach activities to connect with those who may not be part of a faith community.
· Work with the Youth Pastor to set spiritual goals and objectives for the youth ministry.
· Stay up-to-date on youth culture and trends, utilizing this knowledge to effectively engage youth in their faith journey.
· Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Growing relationship with Jesus Christ evidenced by action, attitude, and behavior.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

- Knowledge of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community and the needs of underserved populations.
- At least 2 years of experience working in urban ministry or a related field.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead with compassion, patience, and
understanding, particularly in challenging situations.
- A deep passion for working with middle and high school youth through evangelism and outreach, with a strong desire to guide them toward a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Proven ability to lead and train small group leaders, with a strong understanding of group dynamics and effective leadership practices within ministry contexts.
- Exceptional ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse temperaments, gifts, passions, and church backgrounds, fostering unity and collaboration within the team.
- A genuine willingness to serve God and others, prioritizing the needs of the community over personal recognition or accolades.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information, maintaining trust and professionalism in all interactions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups including middle and high school students.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect effectively with youth and their families.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to plan and execute events while managing time efficiently.
- Valid Driver's License and must be 21 years of age or older.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to work a varied schedule including weekly youth nights & holidays; as well as occasional travel within the community and beyond.
- This position requires working on-site to foster team engagement, collaboration, and effective communication.
- Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry food and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking.
- Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
