Summary: The Professional Learning Specialist designs, implements, evaluates and refines professional learning for teachers related to: evidence of student learning, data analysis, instructional best practices, collaborative team planning, individual professional growth, reflective practices, and effective technology integration.

- Initiates, plans, executes, and evaluates professional learning aligned to CMS Strategic Plan 2024
- Demonstrates considerable knowledge of instructional coaching protocols and brings evidence-based practices into classrooms by working with teachers and other instructional leaders
- Uses various training methods to develop teachers in instructional strategies and best practices to increase student achievement
- Leads the modification and improvement of teaching methods focused on cultural responsiveness and equity
- Creates positive relationships with teachers and other instructional leaders
- Maintains communication with all levels of customers (schools, learning communities, central services, etc.)
- Commits to continuous improvement, professional learning, and remains current with educational research
- Collaborates with NCDPI to ensure fidelity and compliance of state mandated programming
- Performs related duties as assigned
Minimum
- Bachelor's Degree
- Four years of successful teaching experience
- Five years of increasingly responsible experience in professional learning techniques
- Ten years of increasingly responsible experience in professional learning techniques
