Essential Functions
- Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
- Lead, manage, supervise, and evaluate assigned programs/staff in the district
- Review, approve, and coordinate system development life cycle project requests
- Head the communication on creating, communicating, and maintaining documentation on current SIS
- Create and conduct training and professional development
- Manages system analysis studies, incorporating customer feedback, system problems, policy changes, and emerging technologies to enhance end user experiences
- Manage state reporting, start of school, and end of year SIS operations
- Troubleshoot issues and escalate technical issues to North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NC DPI) for resolution
- Schedules maintenance and downtime for support environments
- Coordinate system upgrades and new feature management and evaluation, including risk assessment
- Maintain knowledge of and ensure proper execution of NC DPI student accounting and attendance policies, procedures, and regulations
- Advise on SIS procedures, functions, and critical issues as they align with district, state and federal policy and legislation
- Work closely with all members of the SIS team to provide guidance and advice on the best way to problem-solve a wide variety of issues
- Assist with issues, questions, and concerns from internal and external customers regarding the district's online enrollment system
- Create an inclusive environment with positive communication and public relations
- Perform related duties as assigned
- Comprehensive in-depth knowledge and understanding of the principles, practices, and procedures student information systems
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements applicable to student information systems
- Thorough knowledge of county and school board policies, procedures, and standards regarding funding, position control, and allotments
- Knowledge of student information systems procedures, processes, regulations applications and plugins
- Ability to reflect appropriate response to situations, while maintaining a professional and personal demeanor
- Ability to learn and use specialized tools, equipment or software related to business needs

- Bachelor's degree in in computer science, education, business administration, math, or related field required
- Master's degree in in computer science, education, business administration, math, or related field preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experienceMaster's degree in in computer science, education, business administration, math, or related field preferred
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license or ability to provide own transportation.
