What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician, Lead Behavior Modification position at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools?
Summary: Under the general direction of the Executive Director, provides behavioral support and professional development to district schools. Duties include conducting district wide training, providing extra supports to schools, observing school?s application of behavior management techniques and providing appropriate feedback. Also provides leadership, support, and training to district behavior modification technicians (BMTs)/behavioral support staff. Assign, monitor work, and coordinate schedules for designated support staff as needed.
Essential Duties: (These duties represent a sample and may vary by position.)
Exercises supervisory responsibilities over designated BMTs and support staff. This includes (a) training (b) assigning and reviewing work (c) coordinating schedules (d) channeling information among schools/program, departmental staff and parents as needed.
Assist district schools with the development, coordination and implementation of behavior management programs and behavior management strategies.
Maintains accurate programmatic data for use in reporting
Follows-up on possible referrals: contacts school based staff, parents, and community agencies to attain additional information.
Collaborates with district schools to assist with implementing researched based Alternatives to Suspension.
Conducts staff trainings
Observes and documents behaviors of designated students; maintains accurate log of progress, relative behavior and social skills development.
Works cooperatively with district staff and community agencies in accessing resources for students and their parents.
Participates on committees and in professional groups; makes presentations.
Diffuses and de-escalates potentially volatile situations.
Addresses needs of EC students appropriately and in accordance with Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Effectively uses standard and specialized office equipment including computers for emailing, data entry, word processing and database management.
Performs related duties as assigned.
