Position Summary
The Senior Accountant of Financial Reporting is responsible for ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements, supporting SOX compliance efforts, and working with NAV to maintain accurate and timely financial statements. The ideal candidate has a strong technical accounting background, experience with SEC reporting, and a solid understanding of SOX controls and NAV accounting systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls, identifying and mitigating risks in financial reporting processes.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts within NAV (Microsoft Dynamics NAV) to ensure accurate financial data.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and analysis.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Work cross-functionally with finance, operations, and IT teams to optimize reporting processes and system efficiencies.
- Research and implement new accounting standards and best practices to enhance reporting accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA preferred.
- Public Accounting Experience Required.
- 5-8 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting and SOX compliance.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting (if applicable), and internal control frameworks.
- Experience working with external auditors and preparing audit documentation.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Preferred experience with equity, stock based compensation, and derivatives
