Role Overview:
The Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable, payroll, and internal controls. This role ensures the efficiency and accuracy of accounting processes while driving process improvements and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies. A background in manufacturing is a plus, as it provides valuable experience in cost accounting, inventory management, and operational finance.
Responsibilities:
Accounting Operations & Internal Controls:
• Manage the general ledger, reconciliations, and consolidation of financial data.
• Develop and enforce internal controls to ensure compliance and data integrity.
• Work with external auditors and support audit processes.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS (if applicable), and regulatory requirements.
Accounts Payable & Payroll Oversight:
• Supervise accounts payable operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
• Ensure proper controls and policies are in place for vendor management and expense reporting.
• Oversee payroll processing, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with HR and finance teams to maintain payroll accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Leadership & Strategy:
• Lead and mentor accounting team members, providing training and professional development.
• Collaborate with finance, IT, and other departments to support business goals.
• Assist in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
Process Improvement & Systems Management:
• Streamline accounting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Work with ERP and financial software to enhance reporting capabilities.
• Ensure accurate implementation of new accounting policies and standards.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a management role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, accounts payable, and payroll functions.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Manufacturing industry experience is a plus, particularly in cost accounting, inventory management, and financial operations.
