Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Project Manager to oversee and ensure the successful execution of structural steel projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong construction management experience, particularly in managing structural projects, leading teams, liaising with clients, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Coordination:
- Manage all phases of construction, from planning to project close-out.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and timelines.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to meet project requirements.
- Oversee procurement of materials and services.
- Team Leadership & Communication:
- Lead and manage project teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment with project goals.
- Act as the primary contact between clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Hold regular meetings to ensure progress stays on track.
- Budget & Cost Management:
- Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and approve expenditures.
- Identify and address cost overruns, risks, or delays proactively and recommend corrective actions.
- Quality Control & Safety:
- Ensure work meets high-quality standards and complies with all applicable codes and regulations.
- Enforce on-site safety protocols and mitigate risks effectively.
- Problem-Solving & Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks early and create mitigation strategies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to project timelines, quality, and resource allocation.
- Client Management:
- Ensure client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports, addressing client concerns and expectations.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in project management, with at least 2 years focused on structural steel.
- Proven experience managing commercial or industrial construction projects from inception to completion.
- Strong background in budgeting, scheduling, and cost control in construction.
- Skills:
- In-depth understanding of structural and miscellaneous steel.
- Exceptional project management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Certifications & Licenses:
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions, including various weather situations.
- Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment up to 80 pounds.
