What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant/Receptionist position at Charm City Medical Center?
Charm City Medical Center is an integrated opioid treatment, behavioral health, and mental health treatment facility in Baltimore, MD. We offer Methadone, Suboxone, IOP, OP, DWI/DUI treatment programs. We are a start-up, and ask candidates to expect a fast-paced, dynamic workplace environment. Stellar patient care is our #1 goal. We use state-of-the-art technology to deliver our services, and need team members that are well-versed with modern technology and systems. We provide on-site training for this position (but a medical assistant certification is still required).
Responsibilities
- Check-in and intake patients.
- Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately.
- Escort patients to appointments within the medical center.
- Perform urine analysis.
- Perform basic life support (BLS) when necessary.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage follow-up care.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care delivery.
- Perform other similar duties as they arise (assist Chief Medical Officer, dosing nurse, etc).
Skills/ Qualifications
- Valid and current medical assistant certification is encouraged, but not required.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR, and strong organizational skills/attention to detail in maintaining patient records and managing appointments is encouraged.
- Able to learn new skills quickly, especially related to updates to intake protocols or EMR/EHR procedures.
- Familiarity/strength with G-Suite services, basic computational skills.
- Strong patient care skills with a focus on empathy and support for diverse populations, including geriatrics.
- Experience in a clinic or addiction treatment facility/ environment preferred.
- Ability to measure and interpret vital signs accurately.
- Basic life support certification/other certifications are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare professionals.
