What are the responsibilities and job description for the Biofuel Process Optimization Engineer position at Charm Industrial?
About Charm Industrial
Charm Industrial is a pioneering company in the field of carbon removal and bioenergy. Our mission is to reverse climate change by converting excess biomass into carbon-rich bio-oil, which is then injected into underground storage for permanent carbon removal. We aim to use this technology to make fossil-free iron at scale.
**Our Story**
We began our carbon removal efforts in 2020 with initial purchases from customers like Stripe, Shopify, and Microsoft. Since then, we have scaled up our operations to thousands of tons of carbon removal per year, grown our team to over a hundred employees, and established three locations in San Francisco, Colorado, and Kansas. As we continue to grow and expand our impact, we are seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Engineer to join our pyrolysis engineering team.
**The Role**
We are looking for a talented Senior Process Engineer to design, optimize, and implement pyrolysis process systems that ensure efficiency, safety, and sustainability. This role requires expertise in thermal decomposition, fluidization engineering, and process scale-up. The ideal candidate will work closely with a cross-functional team to iteratively improve the pyrolyzer and practice great engineering intuition to ensure a safe and reliable solution is implemented.
