Elevator Mechanic

Position: Elevator Technician

Location: South Carolina (various locations)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Elevator Technician to join our team at Charter Elevator. The Elevator Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and modernization of

various types of elevators and related equipment. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and technical expertise.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance and inspections on elevators to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in elevator systems, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components.

Repair or replace defective parts, such as motors, controllers, door operators, and safety devices.

Install new elevator systems and components, following blueprints and manufacturer specifications.

Respond promptly to emergency calls and resolve elevator entrapments or other issues in a timely and professional manner.

Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and maintenance activities.

Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.

Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients, building managers, and other stakeholders.

Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry standards and new technologies.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Completion of a recognized elevator technician apprenticeship program or equivalent work experience.

Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
