Job Title: SAP Payroll Implementation Lead
This role is supporting a client located in Southern California (eastern Los Angeles)
Duration of the contract is ASAP to March, 2026 (possibly longer).
Onsite 4 days per week in eastern Los Angeles for the initial stages (a few months). Then transitioning to mostly remote with going onsite occasionally. The candidate should live in the LA area (or southern California) to reduce travel expenses.
Lead SAP Employee Central Payroll workstream workshop for requirement gathering and design
- Certification in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) is required
- Review / Manage RAID (Risk, Action, Issue and Decisions) for Payroll workstream
- Provide cross workstream Core HR (Hire to Retire), Time and Third-Party support for Payroll deployment as per business requirement
- SAP Employee Central Payroll design and configuration support
- SuccessFactors Employee Central to Employee Central Payroll Replication
- Payroll control central alert/policy configuration, alert review and resolution of payroll alert
- Support for regular, off-cycle, ad hoc payroll run and payroll data issue resolution
- Support for payroll and FI posting for regular and off-cycle payroll run
- Provide Functional specs/configuration workbook update
- Coordinate with offshore (India) and EY Payroll Operation and client to resolve payroll issue
- At least 5-7 full end to end implementation experience for SAP Payroll (SAP ECC Payroll, SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll).
- At least 2 Utilities/Highly Union environment SAP payroll implementation experience.
The SAP Payroll Implementation Lead - Contractor is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end implementation of SAP Payroll solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements, and delivering high-quality payroll processes across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead workshops for requirement gathering and design of SAP Employee Central Payroll solutions, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure comprehensive understanding of business needs.
Manage and review RAID (Risk, Action, Issue, and Decisions) for the payroll workstream, proactively identifying and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide expert support for the configuration and design of SAP Employee Central Payroll, ensuring seamless integration with Core HR, Time Management, and Third-Party systems.
Coordinate with offshore teams and client stakeholders to resolve payroll issues, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Support regular, off-cycle, and ad-hoc payroll runs, addressing payroll data issues and ensuring accurate financial postings in accordance with business requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 12 years of experience in SAP Payroll implementation, with a proven track record of at least full end-to-end implementations in complex environments.
Certification in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) is required
Strong technical expertise in SAP Employee Central Payroll, including configuration, design, data replication processes and payroll parallel testing, year-end processing and BSI configuration.
Experience with SAP North America payroll deployment for utilities industry in highly unionized environments, demonstrating an understanding of unique payroll challenges and requirements.
Familiarity with SuccessFactors Employee Central and its integration with SAP Payroll, including payroll data management and replication.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
