- Wages from $18.00 - $22.00. Wages dependent upon experience
You will be responsible for the operation and output of assigned production lines which include but are not limited to:
- Provide support for emergency or unplanned repairs of production equipment and auxiliary systems.
- Troubleshoot basic to complex mechanical and electrical issues. Must show ability to get to the root cause and make and implement recommendations to improve reliability.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance on production and support equipment and make recommendations for improvement.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and schematic prints (electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical) to perform required maintenance and service
- Record and submit accurate work order data and parts usage using the CMMS system
- May assist or support contractors on major installation or retrofit projects
- Follow Electrical Safe Work Practices as outlined by NFPA 70E
- Working as a team player to reach consistent output goals
- Maintaining a safe workspace and commitment to following CNG’s Safety Mission
- Ensure that safety and health concerns are given primary consideration in all activities
- Follows company guidelines and actively participates in all safety processes
- Fulfill all duties and demonstrate marked, continuous growth in all qualities outlined in the Maintenance Department General Evaluation Criteria document.
- Thorough knowledge of and demonstrated adherence to safe work practices and proper use of PPE required in various areas of the plant.
- Thorough knowledge of and ability to complete lock-out/tag-out/try-out procedures for all sources of energy on all equipment. Demonstrated proper use of the hot work permit system
- Ability to properly utilize email, CMMS, and shared-access work lists to effectively communicate equipment issues or concerns, progress on work to remedy issues, and requests for parts or additional support. Demonstrate proper methods of completing check-sheets for preventative maintenance procedures on equipment you are responsible for.
- Ability to keep tools, shop, office, and other work areas clean and organized.
- Change air filters on extrusion and support equipment electrical cabinets and on plant and office HVAC equipment
- Change 120VAC light bulbs & ballasts in production and office areas
- General cleaning on extrusion and support equipment and around the plant; operate steam cleaner safely and efficiently
- Clean Foremost resin pump filters and rail car unloader dust collectors
- Complete safety inspections on fire extinguishers, exit/egress signs and lights, ladders, hoists, etc.
- Inspect resin handling piping, flexible tubing, wands, and various connections for damage and complete basic repairs
- Inspect and clean chilled water system filters; maintain appropriate chill water chemical concentrations
- Inspect and clean central vacuum system waste collection bin
- Clean surge bin vacuum hopper screens, verify operation of proximity sensors
- Empty hoppers on dust collectors, purge systems, and verify correct operation
- Clean dust collector filters
- Perform preventative maintenance on manual pallet jacks
- Maintain batteries on all material handling equipment
- Inspect and perform mechanical preventative maintenance on core cutters, stretch wrappers, roll tippers, hoists, and manual packaging tools.
- Proper/Safe operation of trash compactor
- Monitor and document plant compressed air and chilled water pressures, temperatures, and overall system conditions
- Assist with production equipment preventative maintenance as needed.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues, requesting supervisor assistance when needed
- 1-3 years of plastic extrusion experience preferred
- Training in Industrial Maintenance, Machine Repair, Automated Systems, or other similar skilled trades is desired along with 2 or more years of verifiable work experience in related fields.
- Experience with PLC’s, drives and industrial controls is desired.
- Ability to work with measuring tools such as tape measure, calipers, etc.
- Solid technical/mechanical aptitude
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, pull and lift throughout a 12- hour period. (Our lift limit is 65lbs)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Basic computer knowledge
- Strong communication skills
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn

- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand most of their 12-hour shift on a cement production floor. The team member frequently is required to use arms to reach and hands to handle or feel. The team member must repetitively lift and/or move up to 65 pounds. Must be able to routinely climb stairs and work safely around numerous hot surfaces and rotating equipment.
- Team members are also required to frequently talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Team members in this role are exposed to seasonal temperature/humidity changes that can be near 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
