The person in this position will have day-to-day oversight of the Alternative Route to Certification (ARC) program and will engage in program development activity related to course curriculum design and revisions, hiring of faculty, National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation, and staying informed and up to date with any OEC (Office of Early Childhood) or CSDE (CT State Department of Education) changes to teacher education program requirements. The position also completes all work requirements of the Senior Associate Academic Advisor by advising students in their respective programs.Example of Job Duties : Under the direction of the Director of the Early Childhood Education Department, the Assistant Director will be responsible for the duties listed below. The incumbent typically performs work in offices, conference rooms and in locations where groups of students, faculty and staff gather. The work does not, normally, involve any significant physical effort. Candidates must possess proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students. They are expected to have excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.).Preferred Qualifications :
Starting Salary : Minimum Salary; $74,546 approximate annual, plus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits. The salary will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications such as education and job-related experience, and internal equity.
