  • Please take a look at our website to find out more about our college.  Finish your Degree Online | Charter Oak State College Charter Oak State College   is recruiting part-time adjunct faculty for its newly approved Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction major in the  Early Childhood Education Department.  These positions are on continuous recruitment, and are filled on an as-needed basis, depending on course offerings, enrollment and specific department needs. You will only be contacted if you have met the qualifications / skills and experience that are required for the position.  Course Developers are needed for the following courses :   Curriculum Design Models in Pre-K-12 Education Digital Literacy in Teaching and Learning Integrated Ed Program Models and Family Partnerships Culturally Responsive Pedagogy Standards-Based Instruction and Assessment Foundations of Adult Learning and Coaching Pre-K / K Curriculum Development Early Elementary Curriculum Development Early Reading Instruction Reading in the Content Areas   The course developer is responsible for providing recommendations to the program director on textbook(s) and other resources to be used. Once resources are approved, the course developer will create a Master Course Outline (MCO) for the assigned course, which will include content for each week of an 8-week accelerated course.  Weekly content includes : Weekly overview Student Learning Outcomes and Weekly Learning Objectives Lecture (presentation or video) Discussion prompts Assignments Assessments Course developers will have a 45-day deliverable day for content. Once content is approved, the course will be placed in a Blackboard teaching shell by an instructional designer at Charter Oak State College. Course developers are required to teach the course the first time it is offered and may continue teaching as adjunct faculty in subsequent semesters, as well. s, as well.       Course Developers should have knowledge and skills related to the area of expertise required in each course. Course developers should have strong organizational and technological skills and experience teaching in higher education. Certified teachers or administrators preferred. It is expected that Course Developers have cultural awareness, and ability to work with culturally diverse faculty and students. Must have reliable technology and access to high-speed internet. This is a fully remote position. Note : Candidates are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with reliable technology and access to high-speed internet. Create rubrics for all assignments Minimum Qualifications :     Master's degree in education or a related field from a regionally accredited institution. Demonstrated competency in computer applications. Minimum three (3) years of industry and practical experience in a professional discipline. Demonstrated training or experience in teaching in an online asynchronous environment. Effective communication skills. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail. Exceptions to the degree requirements may be made for compelling reasons. Preferred Qualifications : Doctoral degree (EDD) from a regionally accredited institution.  Extensive knowledge working in a learning management system. At least two (2) years of higher education teaching experience or one (1) year of higher education online teaching experience. Bilingual. Experience in Curriculum Development.
