Position Overview
The IT Director is responsible for setting and executing the strategic vision for technology at Charter Research. The IT Director will ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of all IT systems while delivering an outstanding experience for Charter Research team members. The IT Director will serve as a key advisor to leadership, guiding technology decisions that align with company goals.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; coaching and mentoring employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the assigned department(s).

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the company's business objectives.
- Ensure the reliability, availability, and security of all IT systems and applications at Charter Research’s current and future locations.
- Lead IT procurement, vendor relationships, and asset inventory.
- Oversee the delivery of IT support services to team members, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive IT documentation and knowledge base articles.
- Formulate and enforce IT security policies and procedures to safeguard company data and systems.
- Manage project budgets, forecast future needs, and effectively communicate project status and risks to stakeholders.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry best practices to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Proven experience in managing and implementing IT strategies, including budgeting and resource allocation.
- Execute all phases of the project life cycle, from initial feasibility analysis through implementation and post-implementation support.
- Experience with IT service management (ITSM) best practices and frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
- Proficiency in cybersecurity best practices and risk management.
- Experience with IT asset management and procurement processes.
- Ability to generate, collect, and analyze data to understand trends, identify issues, and make informed decisions about IT systems and infrastructure.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- At least 8 years of progressive experience in IT roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, MCSA, CCNA) are a plus.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
