POSITION OVERVIEW
The PRN Infusion Nurse is a key member of the research team performing Phase I-IV industry-sponsored clinical trials and is responsible for performing infusions of investigational medications in patients participating in clinical trials. The Infusion Nurse is responsible for preparing the patient, administering the infusion, and monitoring the patient to ensure safety while safeguarding the integrity and quality of clinical trials. Responsible for communicating appropriately with patients, investigators, Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs), and other study team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive patients, explain procedures, check vital signs, and administer infusions of investigational medication (or placebo) for clinical trials, monitor reactions, and report to Principal Investigators and Clinical Research Coordinators.
- Ensure each patient enjoys a positive infusion experience in a warm, comfortable, and inviting environment.
- Maintain warmth of character and medical professionalism.
- Manage emergency situations (with physician assistance), if required.
- Flexibility to cover overnight visits when needed.

Registered Nurse (RN) diploma, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
