POSITION SUMMARY :
The Fitness coordinator is responsible, for developing and implementing fitness programs for our residents, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle within the community, and providing personal health and fitness services for the residents including fitness center equipment operations, health-related fitness assessments, personalized exercise prescriptions, and general guidance with the health and fitness programs. This position is also responsible for conducting private and small group personal training sessions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Responsible for developing plans for personal fitness training services including :
Service Offerings
Customer Communications
Satisfaction Measurements
Input for program development
Design and implement fitness programs tailored to the needs and preferences of senior residents.
Responsible for adhering to monthly budgets
Conduct fitness assessments to determine individual fitness levels and goals.
Lead group exercise classes, ensuring they are inclusive and suitable for various fitness levels.
Provide individualized guidance and support to residents, promoting safe and effective exercise practices.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to address specific health concerns and create specialized fitness plans.
Organize and coordinate wellness events, workshops, and seminars to educate residents on various aspects of health and fitness.
Monitor and maintain fitness equipment, ensuring a safe and clean environment.
Stay informed about the latest trends and research in senior fitness to continually enhance program offerings.
Must interact in a positive, empathetic manner with all customers, families, referral sources, and the community as a whole. Identifies and responds to residents' needs in an appropriate and timely manner.
Demonstrate knowledge of the retirement housing industry.
He / she must possess excellent leadership and communication skills, be creative, fun-loving and have a caring disposition towards the elderly. The Fitness coordinator must also have a current driver’s license, typing and marketing skills, and have a neat, professional, courteous manner and appearance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Physical Demands include s itting, s tanding, w alking, s ending, r eaching, p ushing, p ulling, c limbing stairs, g rasping, manual dexterity, stooping, crawling, kneeling, crouching, vision Acuity, talking, and hearing.
Must be able to pull, push, and or lift up to 50 pounds.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS :
Must have a bachelor's degree in exercise science or have a nationally recognized certification in senior personal training with an additional 3 years of experience working with seniors.
Must be registered as a senior fitness specialist with ACE or obtain the registration within 3 months of hire.
He / she must possess excellent leadership and communication skills, be creative, fun-loving, and have a caring disposition towards the elderly. Must have typing and marketing skills, and have a neat, professional, courteous manner and appearance.
Ability to pass a drug screen (state applicable) and Criminal background check.
Willing to work shift assigned, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision; problem-solving, conflict management, budgeting.
