This role will participate in identifying and setting strategic plant goals and objectives and serve as a key leader in the execution of the plant strategies across all relevant time horizons. As an integral part of the plant operations team, the role will provide technical, engineering, and process leadership to continuously improve processes across plants with a goal of optimizing efficiency, process stability, and reducing plant costs.

What You Will Do:
- Create process stability, support continuous improvement, and optimize equipment efficiency by providing technical, engineering, and process leadership
- Develop process scorecard of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and lead weekly meetings to review performance with plant management to identify process gaps and drive improvements resulting in cost reduction and increased efficiencies through standardization of processes
- Communicate performance of KPI’s to plant floor employees to share process gaps and help drive employee engagement for improvements in cost reduction and increased efficiencies through standardization of processes
- Develop and implement systems to monitor plant process and equipment delays and make recommendations to reduce or eliminate failures to increase plant uptime and improve throughput
- Recommend and implement permanent solutions to long term performance issues and improve existing and new technologies and processes
- Project leadership: Partner with the plant to develop and implement new technologies and operating practices to improve operations performance. New technology includes operational practices, materials selection, process design, new equipment, and software to support safe and efficient metal manufacturing
- Partner with plant leadership in the development and execution of the manufacturing and/or technical roadmap, with specific focus and making recommendations around emerging technologies that support digitalization and sustainability improvements
- Participate in operations strategy development and deployment by conducting assessments and making recommendations for potential facility expansions and/or new plants. Scope of work includes but is not limited to recommending equipment modifications, debottlenecking strategies, and new equipment design options. It also includes participation in business case development, CAPEX and OPEX cost modeling, and defining future state operating schemes
- Participate in the development and execution of the annual business plan, CAPEX plan, operating targets, and annual action plans in alignment with divisional AIP’s
- Participate in the development of annual plant cost savings targets and provide leadership to those initiatives that are the most complex and/or hold the most significant benefit/risk
- Support the development of improved MES, Level 2 and HMI programs in partnership with our Automation and Engineering teams that enhance operator effectiveness and process control
- Document material, process, and equipment parameters and limits within our manufacturing systems (MES, Level 2, HMI, etc.) to protect and advance process control and discipline
- Assist in developing training systems, including developing training manuals, Level III procedures, and successful delivery of the training materials to operators
- Partner with manufacturing, Technical Services, Sales, Customers, and Product Managers to develop new process capabilities to support future product segment growth
- Leverage CI and lean manufacturing principles such as DMAIC, 5S, Kaizen, fishbone diagrams, process mapping, design of experiments, and root cause analysis to achieve project success
- Play a leading role in defining energy consumption targets, manage projects to reduce consumption, and track plant performance to 10-year Energy Management System goals
- Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Materials Engineering or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- Five plus years’ related work experience in manufacturing, including hands on operational experience and direct project management responsibility
- Proven leadership skills including the ability to motivate, manage, and develop others with experience in coaching and influencing others without direct authority to achieve optimal results
- Expert-level data and analytical skills with a proven track record of turning complex data sets into actionable information that guides process and engineering solution design
- Critical thinking skills to understand the strategic direction of the business and weigh the economic cost benefit of projects
- Strong communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate across all levels of a business
- Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships with all functional areas of the plant
- Proven project management skills in leading multiple projects at various levels
- Willingness to travel (up to 30%)
- Master’s Degree in Science (M.S.) or Business Administration (MBA)
- Ten plus years’ related work experience in metal manufacturing, including hands on operational experience and direct project management responsibility
