What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Worker, Inpatient (NE) position at CharterCARE Health Partners?
Summary: Under the direction of the Administrative Director of Psychiatric Services provides Social Work services to patients and their families that will assist in the restoration, adjustment, and rehabilitation of the patient. The Social Worker will be able to receive Social Work clinical supervision from the outpatient clinical manager (LICSW). Social Work services are based on bio-psycho-social assessments; which will enable the social worker to identify problems related to the total well-being of the patient.
Education: Broad knowledge of social work practice, Master’s Degree in social work. Rhode Island accredited graduate program required.
Licensure: RI LCSW licensure required for Inpatient Units and Psychiatric Assessment Services (Triage). RI LICSW licensure required for Partial Hospital Program. Access to reliable transportation in order to service off site locations.
Experience: One year psychiatric experience is required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of psychiatric/medical social work or related clinical field. Requires judgement to analyze facts and circumstances and to make independent discussions abased on limits of standard or accepted practice.
- Ability to effectively use clinical and therapeutic skills required.
- Skills in organization and priority setting.
- Ability to work cooperatively with peers and other disciplines.
- Ability to utilize sound interpersonal skills when interacting with patients and taking into consideration cultural background, linguistic skills and age of customers.
Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety Requirements: Lifting up to 10 lbs. And occasionally lifting and/or carrying such items as files, books, etc. Involves sitting, walking, stooping, and reaching.
