About the Role
As a Mortgage Loan Officer, you will be responsible for originating mortgage loans with members or potential members. This includes accurate and efficient completion of loan applications, cross-selling credit union products, and communicating effectively with members and the mortgage team.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-qualify members or potential members, choose loan options, interview, gather documents, assemble files, issue preliminary disclosures, and prepare applications for processing.
- Advise members on loan process steps, timeframes, rates, fees, APR, and other important elements.
- Cross-sell additional credit union products and services that enhance member financial well-being.
- Participate in Continuing Education work as requested by Chartway and/or required by regulatory agencies.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of the Real Estate industry, home purchase market, and life cycle.
- Knowledgeable of mortgage program guidelines for credit union-approved mortgage loan products.
- Able to coach and counsel members in home purchase and refinance loans.
- Excellent sales skills to match member needs with credit union products.
- Bilingual in Spanish required.
