Chartwell Hospitality LLC is a fully integrated real estate company specializing in the acquisition, development and management of high-quality, branded, limited-service and full-service hotels. The Company is currently recruiting for a Property Accountant.

Summary:
The Property Accountant is responsible for the full cycle accounting for a portfolio of hotel properties. Duties include: preparing and maintaining accurate financial records by performing a variety of accounting tasks, applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of financial records, and preparing financial, statistical, and/or technical reports within the existing internal control framework.
Essential Job Functions:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Monthly close procedures
- Preparation, detailed analysis, and reconciliation of:
- Financial statements, general ledgers, budgets, cash flow projections
- Perform daily activities such as posting daily sales and cash journal entries
- Provide accounting support to the portfolio’s managers
- Provide accurate and timely financial information to both internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with internal and external Audit requests
- Assist in meeting Tax Compliance including Monthly Sales Tax Filings
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Complete ad hoc requests
Necessary Skills and Attributes:
Excellent verbal, comprehension, listening, and problem-solving skills
Detail oriented
Well organized
Relevant Accounting experience and skills
Possess strong organizational and time management skills
Knowledge of general ledger systems, financial chart of accounts, and corporate procedures
Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
- 2 years of experience in an accounting/finance environment
- Hospitality experience and/or real estate background is a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel knowledge required
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; bend; walk; use hands or finger; or feel objects, tools or controls; lift boxes (up to 15 pounds); talk and hear. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision to a computer screen.
