Job Summary
Working as the Regional HR Manager with Chartwells Higher Education, you will provide field and corporate support to our FOOD SERVICE OPERATIONS and CULINARY TEAMS across multiple states. The Regional HR Manager will seek to develop integrated solutions, formulate partnerships, and work to achieve strategic, tactical, and administrative HR objectives, aligned with Chartwells key business objectives.
The Regional Human Resources Manager will be self-directed, flexible, resilient, highly motivated, & possesses high-personal ethical standards. You will be an advocate for fair and consistent administration of company policies, procedures, and programs, and build credible relations with leadership. You will be the content expert regarding policies, procedures and programs to your region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Objectively provide guidance to leadership and assist with on-site investigations as the HR subject matter expert. Provide counsel on appropriate level of accountably. Verify documentation is being administered in a timely manner.
- Formulate partnerships across the HR function to improve collaboration, productivity, deliver trusted counsel, and a provide a safe space for management and associates.
- Demonstrated ability to handle difficult or volatile situations/individuals effectively.
- Strong analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations.
- Coordinates and conducts management training related to this area (i.e.: terminations, sexual harassment, performance management).
- Investigates and advises management in appropriate resolution of associate relations issues.
- Coordinates/conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Makes recommendations to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
- Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations as is needed.
- Supports internal customer survey and associate satisfaction interpretation/feedback process.
- Attends Operational meetings to increase HR visibility, conduct classroom training, provide assistance and implement account HR initiatives.
- Coordinates and conducts management training related to the areas of interviewing, selection and hiring.
- Coordinates and conducts new hire orientation and management training related to this area.
- Conducts HR Assessments.
- Prepares and presents HR related topics at Field Operations Workshops for HR Training and Development.
- Regularly conducts HR related training (i.e.: Sexual Harassment, Progressive Discipline, HR 101).
- Supports Preferred Employer objectives and HR business plan by attending and participating in operational meetings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, Masters preferred.
- 2 – 5 years of human resource experience.
- HR professional certification preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to prioritize, organize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and have initiative, with a proactive work ethic.
- Act with integrity, display professionalism, and ensure confidentiality.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization to include management and associates, both written and verbally.
- Content-knowledge regarding employment law, policies, procedures, and programs
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Willingness to travel 10-20% as needed.
