Job Summary:
We are looking for a friendly, upbeat, and hardworking Dental Assistant to join our team! If you are a person with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a passion for patient care, we want to hear from you. Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Our office is open Monday - Thursday, 8am-5pm. This role includes assisting chair side during various dental procedures, as well as being a floater to help front desk duties and other tasks as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including preparing the treatment area, sterilizing instruments, and handing instruments to the dentist
- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist
- Perform dental charting and record patient information accurately
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring efficient workflow
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions
- Accurately recording patient medical history
- Assist with dental lab tasks such as pouring impressions and trimming models
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred but not required
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients
- Be able to work as a team
