Base Salary Range: $23.75 - $33.86 USD hourly
Salary is determined based on applicable experience and education. External offers typically do not exceed the mid-point of the pay range.

Purpose of Job:
Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by enrolling, educating patients about CHAS services and community resources, and overseeing the management of patients assigned to or eligible for CHAS managed care contracts as follows:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Works with a mixed patient population, across gender, age and ethnicity as well as insured and uninsured patients.

Reviews patient demographics to determine eligibility for various health insurance, assistance programs, and community resources.

Enrolls patients in Medicaid, CHIP, Qualified Health plans, and Qualified Dental plans through the state insurance marketplaces.

Enrolls patients in various assistance programs including food assistance, cash assistance, Medicare Savings program, childcare assistance, and Low-Income subsidy.

Acquires a thorough working knowledge of managed care programs including their value-added benefits and scope of coverage.

Educates patients regarding proper utilization of insurance plans.

Reviews dental treatment plans, advises patient of insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs, submits prior authorization for dental treatment when required.

Educates new patients on scope of CHAS Health services, clinic and plan rules, and patient responsibility.

Participates in outreach programs throughout the community.

Provides training for staff on current insurance, managed care, and resource related issues

Tracks enrollments, managed care conversions, and other activities on a regular basis.

Performs other duties assigned, including supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience: HS diploma or equivalent preferred. Health industry experience strongly preferred. Experience working with medical insurance very helpful. Face-to-face customer/patient service experience required.
Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication. Basic computer and typing skills required. Dependent on clinic location, Washington Healthplanfinder navigator certification or Your Health Idaho Enrollment Counselor certification required within 90 days of hire. Commitment to supporting a safe, respectful, equitable, and inclusive environment required.
