Seeking experienced chemist to conduct analytical testing and bench chemistry to aid product development.
· Full time, in-person, laboratory position
· Daily interaction with multiple functional areas (Quality, Operations, Research)
· Contribute technical expertise to solving internal and external customer problems
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Additional Responsibilities as Assigned)
- Prepare test samples and conduct physical, chemical, and electrical tests on existing and new products in accordance with supplied specifications
· Calibration, operation, maintenance of analytical instrumentation: FTIR, TGA, DSC, TMA, GC/MS, GPC
· Analysis of raw materials and finished products
· Maintain inventory of critical lab consumables and critical spare parts to support operation of analytical instrumentation.
· Develop robust test methods for analysis of raw materials and finished goods.
· Training technicians in established analytical methods
Education
· BS or MS degree in chemistry, polymer science or a related field with three or more years of laboratory experience
· High school diploma or equivalent acceptable with 10 years laboratory experience
Knowledge and Experience
- · Successful candidate should have demonstrated experience with the following instruments / techniques: FTIR, TGA, DSC, TMA, GC/MS, GPC, HPLC.
- · Experience in set up, calibration, maintenance, methods development / optimization, interpretation and reporting of results required.
- · Excellent communication skills required. Ability to organize and present scientific data to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to execute multiple parallel projects
