Chase Farm Veterinary Hospital is a busy, modern, progressive, and fully equipped hospital that utilizes both Eastern and Western medicine.  The staff likes to work hard and have fun with patient care, the client experience, and employee success being the top priorities! 

Veterinary Technician 

Chase Farm Veterinary Hospital in North Dartmouth, MA 

$17.00 - $21.00 an hour (based on experience) 

WHAT YOU’LL DO  

  • Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones 
  • Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy 
  • Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas
  • Keep furry friends calm and still during procedures (sometimes using chin scratches!) 
  • Prepare estimates for procedures and discusses financial commitments with clients 
  • Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions 
  • Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms, and inform inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered 
  • Assist the Veterinarian in office visits, medical, surgical, and dental procedures (be comfortable with blood draws; prepare patients for surgery; administer anesthesia; monitor patients during surgery and recovery; administer fluids and treatments) 
  • Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery 
  • Run lab work and take digital radiographs

REQUIREMENTS   

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) required
  • At least 2 years of hands on experience in a veterinary hospital
  • Must have a positive attitude and be a team player 
  • Diagnostics (Radiographs, ECG, Blood Pressure, Venipunture) 
  • Placing IV Catheters 
  • Administering treatments 
  • Assisting and monitoring patients during surgery 
  • Providing emergency and critical care to patients 
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Triage over the phone
  • Ability to a rotating schedule to include days, nights, weekends, holidays
