A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ASSISTANT HOTEL GENERAL MANAGER

As a Rooms Division Manager, you work closely with the General Manager and other personnel to ensure our guests experience a comfortable stay. You directly oversee the front desk and housekeeping operation as well as act as a Manager On Duty in a rotating position with other senior staff members. In this position, you positively impact operational activities in all departments including maintenance, banquets and restaurant duties. You maintain a safe environment for your team and our guests by ensuring proper security procedures are in place and promptly completing accident reports when needed.

The smooth function of our company is a result of your management abilities and exceptional organization. You assist the general manager in the development and revision of the annual budget process. With attention to detail, you closely monitor sales and expenses and take timely action to ensure proper yield management. You regularly inspect the interior and exterior of the building, grounds, and all furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E). Additionally, you help to develop and implement policies for the good of the guests and employees. As you work closely with the executive housekeeper, you ensure an effective housekeeping schedule is in place.

As part of your hospitality management role, you are responsible for ensuring we have qualified staff in place and trained in order to meet any needs. During the yearly performance evaluations you hold with the front desk and housekeeping employees, you provide coaching and training to ensure that our staff is the best. With great attention to detail, you accurately track inventory supplies and complete all daily reports. When needed, you eagerly assist clients, staff, and vendors. You enjoy creating the ideal experience for both our guests and staff!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A ROOMS DIVISION MANAGER

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 year or more in a management/ supervisory role
• Basic math skills
• Physical ability to perform the necessary functions of the job

An associate degree in business or hotel management is preferred. A year or more of experience as a supervisor in the industry would be a plus. Can you work with confidence in a fast-paced setting? WORK SCHEDULE

This full-time position typically works from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Schedule may include nights and/or weekends which vary according to staffing needs.
