Direct Hire position - location south of Atlanta airport
This Supply Chain / Buyer position will be responsible for quotations and negotiations of project-based purchase orders, tracking responsible product, alerting fellow team members and management when project orders have been fulfilled as promised and if there are any purchased components that can adversely affect the project cost or schedule. Interfacing with Project Management, Master Scheduling, and Sales to support the successful completion of projects.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
Quotations : Provide timely and accurate quotations as needed to support the applications team on equipment and rebuild projects.
Tracking : Monitor and track all purchase orders to ensure that all deliveries satisfy assigned purchase orders; report any back-ordered or missing products; expediting procedures.
Project Coordination : Interface with Project Management and Master Scheduling to ensure on-time delivery of product to maintain project schedules.
Customer Service : Work closely with all stakeholders to ensure all needs are met. Communicates issues timely and effectively; resolve issues with a sense of urgency. Ability to locate, evaluate, and secure new suppliers while maintaining expected pricing levels.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Education & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or 7 years of relevant purchasing experience.
7 years of experience in purchasing / supply chain management, preferably within the heavy fabrication, foundry, or machining industry.
Technical & Task Related Competencies
Supply Chain Management : Comprehensive understanding of supply chain concepts and industry standards.
Computer Proficiency : Proficiency in all Office 365 elements and ERP systems.
Purchasing Certifications : Professional certifications such as CSCP or CMP are a plus.
Problem Solving : Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; develops alternative solutions and works well in group problem-solving situations.
Quality & Productivity : Ensures accuracy and thoroughness in work, strives to increase productivity, and meets deadlines effectively.
Professional Certifications : Certifications in purchasing or supply chain management are a plus, such as CSCP, CMP, or Project Management certifications.
Ability to balance multiple assignments while meeting deadlines to support the business.
Takes independent actions and calculated risks, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
Flexibility to travel as needed to meet business objectives.
