Our client is looking for a Claims Representative with Aviation Insurance experience. This role is responsible for the performance and supervision of first and third-party claims handling in a manner consistent with Company policies and procedures. This is a Full-time, hybrid position in northern NJ.
Responsibilities:
- Implement the directives and objectives of the Hull Claims Manager and U.S. Head of Claims.
- Adjust claims and conduct negotiations on behalf of the Company within a specified range of authority.
- Remain informed of all assigned claims through periodic review and diary control.
- Maintain current knowledge of technical and legal developments.
- Evaluate reported subrogation potential on claims assigned for handling and make recommendations to the Hull Claims Manager concerning pursuit of subrogated recoveries.
- Assist in the underwriting and production efforts undertaken in coordination with underwriting managers.
- Manage claims and perform the administrative, recordkeeping and appraisal functions required by the Company.
- Required to be available during business and non-business hours via company/personal mobile device(s).
Qualifications:
Required:
- Five-ten years of aviation insurance claims handling experience or equivalent
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Familiarity and experience with Microsoft Office computer applications
- Aptitude for learning proprietary computer systems
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- 35% domestic and international travel required
Preferred:
- bachelor’s degree in aviation or a related field, or equivalent, strongly desirable
- FAA pilot certificate or FAA A&P mechanic certificate strongly desirable
- Technical aviation industry experience as a pilot, mechanic or in another technical role highly desirable
