Position Overview
The Senior Corporate Operational Excellence (OPEX) Engineer will lead and support corporate-wide initiatives to improve team member safety, product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This position requires a strong background in LEAN Six Sigma methodologies, Toyota Production Systems (TPS), and continuous improvement practices. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent leadership, project management, and team collaboration skills while driving meaningful and sustainable change.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement strategies to drive safety, productivity, cost savings, and business performance improvements.
- Process Improvement: Identify, assess, and optimize inefficient processes using TPS and LEAN Six Sigma methodologies.
- Process Analysis: Analyze workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement data-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Leadership & Mentoring: Lead cross-functional teams on improvement projects and mentor junior engineers in continuous improvement principles.
- Training & Development: Conduct workshops on TPS culture and LEAN Six Sigma tools to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize analytics to monitor progress, measure impact, and identify new improvement opportunities.
- Performance Monitoring: Develop KPIs and dashboards to track operational excellence initiatives.
- Standardization & Best Practices: Establish best practices across the organization and ensure process standardization.
- Change Management: Drive change management efforts to ensure the successful adoption of new processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with department heads and senior executives to align operational excellence initiatives with business objectives.
Qualifications
Must-Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (preferably mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering).
- 10 years of experience in operational excellence, process improvement, or similar roles.
- LEAN Six Sigma Black Belt certification is required.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to influence and drive change across functional teams.
- Extensive experience with Toyota Production Systems (TPS) or similar methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering sustainable solutions.
- Solid project management skills, including milestone tracking, meeting objectives, and timely project completion.
- Ability to work on the production floor and build strong team relationships.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP is a plus) and Shop Floor Control systems (MES preferred).
- Experience in manufacturing environments with diverse process improvement experience.
