Job Title: Senior Accountant
Department: Finance & Accounting
Reports To: Controller
Location: Partnership Tower Houston, Texas
Hours: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: Ensure all data is coded and input into the system promptly and maintain consistency between the accounting system and actual accounts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (individual duties, assignments, and responsibilities required of the position)
- Review GL coding on cash/credit card receipt deposits and ensure they are promptly recorded
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and revenue accounts
- Prepare budget transfer or adjustment documents
- Prepare bank reconciliation of major operating accounts, research reconciling items and record miscellaneous payments and revenues
- Monitor the AR aging report
- Work with auditors during yearly audit reviews
- Other duties and special projects as needed
Supervisory Responsibilities: (personnel supervision, budgets, performance, etc.)
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Education and/or Experience: (special training, certifications, college degree, etc.)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or Associate's Degree with 8 years of heavy governmental accounting/bookkeeping experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (technical, communication, interpersonal, etc.)
- Computer literacy with advanced knowledge of MS products including Word and Excel
- Exposure to event booking software preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels within the organization
