Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and evaluate the nursing care needs of patients throughout the surgical process.
- Deliver compassionate nursing care and support to pre-operative patients.
- Administer prescribed medications, apply dressings, and monitor vital signs vigilantly.
- Assist the physician during procedures while adhering to stringent aseptic techniques.
- Maintain the operating room’s sterility, cleanliness, and functionality of equipment and supplies.
- Serve as the primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
- Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions effectively utilizing computerized systems.
- Mentor and orient new staff, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
- Follow Standard Precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as required.
- Strong critical thinking and assessment skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in patient care technologies and computerized documentation systems.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Valid RN License in Florida or recognized Compact License.
- 2-3 years of recent acute care experience in a Cardiovascular Operating Room setting.
- Current certification as a BLS and ACLS Healthcare Provider.
- CNOR certification is preferred.
- Demonstrated customer service skills, including effective listening capabilities.
- Ability to work decisively in high-pressure situations.
