MANAGER AND CARETAKER in Tofte, Minnesota on the shore of Lake Superior
On-site management and caretaking position on beautiful Lake Superior.
A condo to live in is provided! This is a significant value because renting or owning a home on the North Shore of Lake Superior is very costly.
This position will tend to all aspects of a 31-unit condominium property, provide high-quality service, and a functional and safe property for the owners and guests, the association, and that employees can fully enjoy. The position will be required to be on-location except for days off, including 24/7 on-call duties, tending to all aspects and needs of the property. Manager residence provided.
We are looking for an exceptionally hard worker; someone who is equally as comfortable with the hands-on requirements of cleaning, minor repairs, equipment maintenance, etc., as they are with planning, communication with board, managing contractors, and other oversight and management tasks. The position will be a key member of a team that will provide full coverage and maintenance of the building.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; one-year related experience preferred; or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience and background check.
Proficient with technology and communication, including managing systems and providing board reports.
Able to handle light physical work.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Obtain Pool Operator certification, required within 6 months, payment provided.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensure overall maintenance and functionality of all building mechanicals and systems.
- Provide property maintenance services, including following and developing standard operating procedures for daily, monthly, and yearly maintenance tasks.
- Provide daily monitoring of interior and exterior of the building & grounds. Assess and correct issues related to safety and security, maintenance, garbage, and pool.
- Securing bids for projects and managing contractors.
- Provide common-area vacuuming, dusting, mopping, including sauna, pool area bathroom and showers, window and glass cleaning.
- Monitor fire pit areas, grills, and propane for deck heaters, maintain gutter condition and operation.
- Prevent/Manage water intrusion and/or ice buildup issues– clean/wet vac.
- Maintain all common area lighting.
- Remove snow from deck, entryways, emergency exit areas, etc.
- Provide 24/7 on-call security for property and units – investigate all matters promptly upon notification and obtain assistance, as needed. Work to resolve any owner or guest issues in a timely, efficient manner.
- Must be a Certified Pool Operator. Can obtain certification during the first 6 months; payment provided.
- Other duties as assigned.
