What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Director position at Chateau St. James?
The Maintenance assistant must participate in the annual facility assessment by providing input or assistance as directed. Attend all facility in-service training programs and all department and staff meetings as directed. Responsible to maintain on-call hours and respond to emergency requests for repairs when needed. Maintain receipts for all purchases made with the facility accounts.
Maintenance Functions:
Clean vehicles, machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas and other objects in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. All windows and screens must be cleaned as directed.
Repair and maintain wheelchairs, geri-chairs, walkers and other adaptive equipment used by residents. Must follow all established safety procedures and precautions when performing maintenance services. Ensure that the facility and its equipment is properly maintained for resident comfort and staff convenience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain sidewalks, doorways, parking areas and clear means of egress in accordance with the facility policies.
Assist others in lifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc., as directed or requested to prevent injury.
Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment including plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, sweeping, etc., as directed
Assist all inspectors, outside contractors and vendors as directed.
