Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral health with experience working with children and students. This role involves providing support, guidance, and advocacy for individuals and families facing various challenges. The Social Worker will work collaboratively with other professionals to develop effective intervention strategies and promote positive outcomes.
Duties
The School Social Worker will be expected to:
- Support students through academic and social/emotional counseling
- Be a partner with faculty and staff in supporting students' needs and developing a culture of high expectations and student success
- Develop and implement academic and social/emotional interventions
- Deliver direct or indirect services for students as written on IEP
- Write and ensure students are working toward meeting their IEP goals
- Coordinate with Special Services team
- Attend and participate in IEP, staff, and professional development meetings
- Effectively and consistently communicate with parents, students and staff regarding students
- Work with students, parents, and staff in a compassionate and productive manner
There may be additional opportunities to:
- Develop and run groups based on student needs/interests
- Assist in the development of programs that help all students develop social emotional skills and support students' mental health.
- Support students develop and pursue post-secondary plans
Skills
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health principles and practices.
- Proven ability to work effectively with children, including those with special education needs.
- Excellent conflict management skills to navigate challenging situations.
- Proficient in crisis intervention techniques to support clients during emergencies.
- Ability to educate parents and teachers on available resources and coping mechanisms.
- Experience working with students in educational settings is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
