Key Responsibilities:
- Bathing and Shampooing: Wash and condition dogs using appropriate shampoos, rinsing thoroughly, and ensuring that the dog's coat is clean and free of dirt or tangles.
- Brushing and De-matting: Brush the dog's coat to remove tangles, mats, and loose hair, and sometimes trim or cut the hair to the desired length.
- Haircuts and Styling: Trim, shape, and style the dog's fur according to breed standards or owner preferences, using grooming tools like clippers, shears, and scissors.
- Nail Trimming: Clip dogs' nails to prevent overgrowth and discomfort.
- Ear Cleaning: Clean the dog’s ears to prevent infections and remove dirt and wax buildup.
- Teeth Cleaning: Some groomers offer teeth cleaning services to maintain oral health.
- Skin Care and Flea Treatments: Check for skin issues, such as hot spots or flea infestations, and may apply treatments as necessary.
- Health Observations: Monitor the dog for signs of illness, parasites, or skin conditions and report findings to the owner.
