SUMMARY
Under direct supervision, performs daily servicing, cleaning, and minor mechanical maintenance and repair of revenue vehicles.

REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
- Must be able to possess a CDL with airbrakes.
- Safely drive various vehicles.
- Minimum of one-year relevant work experience in a maintenance environment as a cleaner/servicer; or any equivalent combination of education and job experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully do the job.
- Must have a strong commitment to safety and knowledge of shop safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must exhibit both written and spoken communication skills with both supervisors and other employees.
- Must be self-motivated and able to perform without constant or immediate supervision.
- Must be able to work flexible hours or shifts.
- Must have the ability to work in a team environment.
- Drug screen, DOT physical and criminal background checks will be conducted.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs daily maintenance inspections of all revenue and support vehicles.
- Inspects engine compartment for defects, which include, but are not limited to: belts, hoses, fluid leaks, wiring, engine oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid, transmission fluid, diesel fuel and adding or replacing fluids/fuel as required and reports those items requiring remedial action.
- Inspects tires for flats, defects, excessive wear, missing lugs, defective lights, lenses, mirrors, windshield wiper blades and repairs or replaces as required.
- Performs vehicle services as required, which includes: sweeping/vacuuming interiors; cleaning windows; dusting seats, dash and handrails; washing floors and other soiled areas; cleaning wheels; and driving vehicle through washer to clean exterior.
- Safely operates shop equipment such as forklifts, floor scrubbers, pressure washers, and other tools by following verbal and written instruction.
- Responds to road calls and performs remedial action require to return bus to garage.
- Performs other related work.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to prepare work orders and other written correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and other employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Must be able to obtain a valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License with passenger endorsement and valid Medical Examiner's DOT card.
- Must have a basic set of mechanics tools.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Regularly required to stand, use hands/fingers, or feet; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- Requires close distance and color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust or focus.
- Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and moderate noise level.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heath; risk of electrical shock; explosives; risk of radiation; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
