The Dock Attendant is responsible for but not limited to the safe mooring of vessels and general operations of the resort’s dock. Additional responsibilities include:
- Facilitate and assist in coordinating the arrival and departure of vessels and loading of passengers
- Maintain a safe and clean environment
- Act as the initial liaison between passengers and the crews
- Assist in reservations and posting of all charges
Qualifications:
- Ability to learn line handling skills including, ability to tie bowline, half hitch knots, toss and cleat lines
- Unlimited or unimpaired ability to walk, bend, stoop, climb and work safely around water and on a ladder
- Be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 60 lbs.
- Capacity to work as a member of a team or by oneself to achieve desired results
- Ability to use a PC, radio and hailer
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend reports and schedules
- Boat handling skills and knowledge of nautical terminology or the ability to learn quickly
- CPR, & First Aid preferred; Lifeguard training a plus
- Problem solving abilities
- Basic Computer Skills in order to operate Micros, Opera and Open Activity
