SUPERVISOR OF TRANSPORTATION
The Chatham Central School District, Chatham, New York, a progressive and child-centered district with an involved community, seeks qualified candidates to fill the role of 12-month Supervisor of Transportation.
This is a supervisory position involving the responsibility for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the transportation system of the school district. Preferred candidates will demonstrate good knowledge of standard transportation methods of the operation of buses, good knowledge of the NYS Motor Vehicle Law and applicable regulations of the Public Service Commission, good knowledge of safe driving practices, geography of the district, general repairs for transportation equipment, the ability to supervise the work of subordinates, and keep records and reports.
Minimum Qualifications include being a resident of Columbia County and six (6) years of work experience vehicle dispatching, and/or driving vehicles, route scheduling or fleet maintenance for a private or public enterprise such as a trucking company, municipal transportation system, school bus system or similar activity. 19A Examiner & SBDI qualifications preferred.
Applicants must qualify under Columbia County Civil Service to be eligible to take the Supervisor of Transportation Exam.
Compensation will be based on experience.
