Do you have one (1) year of experience as a leader or participant in organized recreation or athletic activities? If so, we welcome you to join our team. Apply today for an opportunity to be our next Recreation Leader at Chatham County Parks and Recreation.
Examples of Duties
Under the general supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, you will
- Organize and lead participants in various recreational activities.
- Assist in planning activities and events for senior citizens, teens, and children.
- Perform routine support work in park operations.
- Open and close the park and facilities.
- Supervise various groups of indoor and outdoor youth and adult activities.
- Maintain records of facility rentals, classes, and inventory and enforce facility rules.
- Recruit exercise instructors for additional classes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, and
- At least one (1) year of experience as a leader or participant in organized and varied recreation and athletic activities; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- You must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
During emergencies and disasters affecting Chatham County, you may be required to report to work as part of a disaster operations team.
In accordance with the Department of Transportation, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) holders and those employed in safety-sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing.
Candidates with direct and relevant experience may receive an offer of up to 10% above the minimum salary that is posted, reflecting their exceptional qualifications.
