The Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team (CNT) has a sworn position available for a Technical Surveillance Training Agent. You may be our perfect candidate with your POST certifications and two (2) years of experience in surveillance or technical surveillance. Apply today!

Examples of Duties
Under general supervision, you
- Are responsible for the daily operations associated with the custody, issuing, deploying, and maintenance of technical surveillance equipment and other related items for the Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team.
- Recover audio/video evidence from electronic surveillance equipment used in narcotics investigations and testify in judicial proceedings when necessary.
- Assist the investigative agents in developing their cases.
- Perform various administrative duties, including preparing correspondence, record-keeping and maintenance, and preparing related reports.
- Issue, care for, and maintain technical surveillance equipment, vehicles, uniforms, and other equipment/supplies to/for CNT agents and support staff.
- Coordinate with other County Departments and outside vendors concerning maintenance and repair work on technical and other law enforcement-related equipment.
- Conduct general training, firearms training, less lethal training, and other training as needed.
- Respond to citizens’ questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner.
- May be required to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, and
- At least two (2) years of experience in surveillance, technical surveillance, or a closely related experience; or
- Law Enforcement experience along with completion of training in a surveillance program; or
- an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Special Requirements:
- Must be Georgia POST certified as a Police Officer or complete the Georgia POST Equivalency of Training process prior to the end of the probationary period.
- Must be Georgia POST certified as a General Instructor, Firearms Instructor, and Less Lethal Instructor.
- Must submit to and pass a comprehensive background investigation, credit history check, drug screening, and polygraph examination.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must have completed an OSHA and ANSI compliant training program on safe operating procedures for an aerial device (bucket truck) or be able to complete the required training within one year of hire.
- Must sign release of information forms.
During emergencies and disasters affecting Chatham County, you may be required to report to work as part of a disaster operations team.
In accordance with the Department of Transportation, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) holders and those employed in safety-sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing.
Candidates with direct and relevant experience may receive an offer of up to 10% above the minimum salary that is posted, reflecting their exceptional qualifications.
