- Inspect, test, and perform manual/mechanical work functions associated with the service and maintenance of automotive and mechanical equipment.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment by checking/replacing fluid levels, draining/replacing oil, changing/replacing filters, lubricating mechanical parts, replacing belts and hoses, checking batteries, greasing equipment, inspecting brakes, and other similar work.
- Perform repair/replacement of tires on motor vehicles, balance tires, and check the air pressure level of tires.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED and vocational/technical training in general equipment repair, and
- At least one (1) year of experience in preparation for journeyperson-level mechanic work; or
- Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience servicing diesel equipment is desirable.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
