What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Systems Administrator I position at Chatham County Government?
If you have an Associate Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology along with three (3) years of experience, this may be the job for you. Chatham County, GA Government has two (2) openings for Network Systems Administrator I.
Under direction from the Chief Systems Manager, you will
- Maintain host systems, applications, and network infrastructure.
- Install, maintain, administer, and upgrade host systems and services across the county network.
- Provide technical support for host systems, data networking, network infrastructure, workstations, information security, and related projects.
- Establish and maintain troubleshooting standards and procedures for network systems.
- Provide prompt resolution of operational problems.
- Act as technical lead in the absence of the Chief Systems Manager and as a liaison between Information and Communication Services (ICS) and other Chatham County Departments.
- Schedule and conduct meetings with departmental liaisons to disseminate applications, connectivity, support, and ICS policy changes.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement technology changes based on research.
- Review hardware and software purchase proposals and test and validate the technical abilities of new technologies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field, and
- At least three (3) years of experience in network systems administration, server administration, or computer applications; or
- Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Project Management experience is desirable.
- You must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
