Adjunct Faculty - Performing Arts

Chatham University is accepting applications for the positions of Adjunct Faculty of Dance and Adjunct Faculty of Theater.

The Dance and Theater minors offer students the opportunity to expand their talents and skills as well as knowledge about the performing arts. Students can choose from a variety of classes, including everything from contemporary dance technique and folk and ethnic dance to acting and stage craft.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teaching introductory, intermediate, or advanced courses in the discipline. Holding regular office hours and maintaining professional communication with students.
  • Consulting and collaborating with other faculty to align with departmental teaching needs.
  • Participating in departmental events and university trainings for adjunct faculty.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of an MFA or Ph.D. in Theater, Dance, or closely related field (i.e., Directing, Production Management, Dance Education) OR extensive work experience in the field required.
  • Candidates with a combination of academic and practical experience are particularly encouraged to apply.
  • ABD-Ph.D. candidates are encouraged to apply.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching and mentoring at a college level preferred.
  • Experience working with/teaching diverse groups/diverse students is desirable.
