If you’ve ever wondered what owning your own business is like, just ask an Employee Owner of Chatsworth Products (CPI). Better yet, become one! CPI has an immediate need for a Quality Assurance Technician (2nd Shift) in CPI’s Round Rock, Texas location.
As a CPI Quality Assurance Technician, you will occupy a key role in working with and for a company that builds the physical infrastructure that powers, protects and secures the world’s digital technology. Day to day, you will perform quality assurance duties such as parts inspection, process control verification, receiving inspection, gage calibration/maintenance, evaluation of returned material, etc. you will document the inspection results and activities in inspection records such as checklists, inspection logs, gage calibration software, ERP, non-conformance material reports, MRB, etc. Assist the Production Team on how to perform applicable inspection tasks. Complete internal process audits, document audit results for records keeping, identify audit action items and follow up until closure. Participate in continuous improvement activities. Provide continuous improvement support in all production areas to improve processes resulting in improved quality of finished products.
Essential Functions:
1. Inspects manufactured, purchased and returned parts against drawings and other specifications.
2. Arranges first article inspections, first piece inspection and other special inspections.
3. Monitors and audits operator inspection logs, statistical process control records, check lists etc.
4. Manages the upkeep and calibration of measuring equipment such as calipers and torques.
5. Performs receiving inspection on a special event basis.
6. Records inspection results in reports, logs, ERP, gage control software, supplier rejection forms etc.
7. Performs process and business audits and document audit outcomes.
8. Provides quality assurance training for the Production Team.
9. Assists with special inspection tasks.
10. Take a proactive approach to quality and prevent defect initiation.

Technical Competencies:
- Two (2) year college degree in a technical curriculum preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of quality assurance related experience.
- Broad working knowledge of statistical process control.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office computer software experience.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
- Advanced knowledge and use of measuring devices.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work in a manufacturing environment.
- Working with a computer.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, carrying, crouching, & stooping.
- Lift up to 40lbs.
