As a CPI Maintenance Mechanic - Apprentice, you will be responsible for performing various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of machinery, buildings, and equipment. Under some guidance, determines work methods and procedures. Receives assignments orally or through written instructions, which may be accompanied by sketches or diagrams.

As a CPI Maintenance Mechanic - Apprentice, you will be responsible for performing various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of machinery, buildings, and equipment. Under some guidance, determines work methods and procedures. Receives assignments orally or through written instructions, which may be accompanied by sketches or diagrams.
Essential Functions
- Performs maintenance duties, grounds and building maintenance and repair work.
- Assists with the installation of electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, outlets, fixtures, motors, and other such equipment.
- Assists with the testing and maintenance of equipment using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges.
- Performs skilled maintenance activities including construction, welding, brazing, soldering, and plumbing.
- Utilizes a wide variety of hand and portable power tools.
- Checks and repairs pumps, fans, valves, and motors.
- Conducts preventative maintenance inspections and performs required preventative maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter change and the like.
- Assists in the movement of furniture, materials and equipment as required.
- Reports needs for major repairs to Maintenance Manager.
- Helps with the security of the building under the supervision of the Safety Manager.
- Prepares accurate records for preventative maintenance.
- Assists with the troubleshooting of equipment at the component level.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

- Ability to interpret and work from pencil sketches and diagrams.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping, and crouching.
- Job involves standing most of the shift.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
